KhatuWaleBaba.in (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of devotees and visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your choices, when you use our website, listings, AI chatbot and Prasad ordering services.

Information We Collect — हम कौन-सी जानकारी लेते हैं

  • Account information: name, email, phone and city when you register an account, write a review or file a complaint.
  • Order information: shipping address, contact details and order history when you purchase Prasad.
  • Usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location (city/country level) and how you interact with the site, collected through cookies and analytics tools (see “Analytics” below).
  • Chatbot questions: the questions you type into our AI assistant “श्याम सखा” (see “AI Chatbot” below).

How We Use Your Information — जानकारी का उपयोग

  • To process and deliver Prasad orders.
  • To publish moderated reviews and handle complaints.
  • To answer your questions through our AI chatbot.
  • To send order updates, temple news and aarti timings (only if you subscribe, e.g. by following our WhatsApp Channel).
  • To understand which pages and features are useful, fix errors, and improve our website and services.
  • To protect the website from spam, abuse and security threats.

AI Chatbot “श्याम सखा” — AI यात्रा सहायक

Our website offers an AI assistant that answers questions about darshan, travel, hotels and events using only the content published on KhatuWaleBaba.in.

  • What we store: the text of your question, the page on which you asked it, the date and time, how long the answer took, and an internal score showing how well our content matched the question. We do not store your name, phone number, email or IP address with chatbot questions.
  • Why: to answer you, to find questions our website does not yet answer well, and to improve our pages.
  • Service providers: to generate an answer, your question and the relevant parts of our website content are sent securely (over HTTPS) to Voyage AI (to find matching content) and Anthropic (Claude AI, to write the answer). These providers process the data to deliver the service on our behalf, under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Retention: stored chatbot questions are automatically deleted after 90 days.
  • Please do not share personal details (phone number, address, payment or health information) in the chatbot.
  • Accuracy: answers are generated by AI and may occasionally be incomplete or out of date. Please confirm important details such as darshan timings, fares and festival dates with the temple or the service provider before travelling.

Analytics — वेबसाइट उपयोग का विश्लेषण

We use Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Google Site Kit to understand how visitors use our website. These tools use cookies and similar technologies and may collect your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit.

We also record some interactions as analytics events, for example:

  • clicks on WhatsApp chat or WhatsApp Channel links, phone-call links, and taxi, hotel, dharamshala or booking links;
  • form submissions;
  • chatbot use — opening or closing the chat, asking a question (only the length of the question and whether a suggested question was used, not the question text), whether an answer was shown, response time, and clicks on suggested pages.

This information is used in aggregate to improve the website. Google processes it under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Spam & Abuse Protection — सुरक्षा

To prevent automated misuse of our chatbot, your IP address is used in a one-way scrambled (hashed) form for about 10 minutes to limit the number of questions that can be asked in a short time. It is not stored in our chatbot records. We also apply a daily usage limit on the chatbot and may block traffic that looks automated or malicious.

Cookies & Browser Storage

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart and analyse traffic (see “Analytics”). Our chatbot also saves a small flag in your browser’s session storage so the “पूछें” tip is not shown to you repeatedly; it is removed when you close the browser tab. You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some features (such as login or cart) may then not work.

WhatsApp Channel Updates — व्हाट्सऐप चैनल

You can choose to follow our WhatsApp Channel for temple news, Ekadashi reminders and aarti timings. Following is optional and is done inside the WhatsApp app.

  • We do not receive your phone number or profile when you follow the channel — WhatsApp does not share followers’ personal details with channel admins.
  • WhatsApp may show us only overall statistics (such as the number of followers or reactions), not who you are.
  • On our website we record only that the channel link was clicked (as an analytics event), not your identity.
  • You can unfollow or mute the channel at any time in WhatsApp. Your use of WhatsApp is governed by WhatsApp’s/Meta’s own privacy policy.

Links to WhatsApp, Phone & Other Websites

Our pages contain links to WhatsApp, phone numbers, maps and third-party websites (such as hotels, taxi operators and booking or railway sites). When you use these links, your communication or visit is handled by that service, and their privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

  • delivery partners (for Prasad shipping);
  • payment gateways (for secure transactions);
  • technology service providers that help us run the website — hosting, analytics (Google) and our AI chatbot providers (Voyage AI and Anthropic), as described above;
  • authorities, when required by law.

Payments

Online payments are processed by secure third-party payment gateways. We do not store your card or banking details on our servers.

Security

Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Access to stored information is restricted to authorised administrators, and we use security measures such as firewall protection and spam controls. No method of transmission or storage on the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw your consent to receiving updates, by contacting us at web@khatuwalebaba.in. We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
